I'd been asked now by a number of people why there was no one moving up from the Beginners' class next term. Though I'd explained to those who asked directly, I obviously didn't make my reasons as generally known as I'd thought.
For the avoidance of doubt the reasons are simply logistical...
The reason that no one is being moved up to the Wednesday class is that there simply isn't space to teach another group in that class. Currently the Wednesday class is made up of the 'seniors', a group just about to start Part III, and 2 groups learning Part II (but at different stages).
It's my hope that, at the very least, the 3 groups currently studying Part II will all begin studying Part III as a single group. Obviously, though, this is some way off.
I hope that this gets everyone in to the picture and that no one feels that they are being left out or in any way slighted or hard done by.

Looking for a photographer
I'm trying to help a friend.
I, or rather they, need someone to take some photographs at a small family event near Lincoln on 4th Jan.
There wouldn't be much by way of payment, but they would get a place at the meal following (nice 7-course meal, I understand).
The photographer needs to be confident and able to control and organise people for staged photos as well as being able to catch on-the-fly moments.
If you are, or know someone who is, this kind of person and can do the deed on the day, please contact me at sejhemming@gmail.com.

A big 'Thank You'
I just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' to all who turned up last night, both current and past students.
I hope that you all enjoyed the night as much as Clare and I did.
Perhaps next year we'll find a venue that can seat that many comfortably and without the staff having to sit on my lap to serve!
Hopefully I'll see you at class this week, but in any event I'd, like to wish you all ...
