An end of Term note

As we've got to the end of term, I thought I'd just write a quick note about how I thought that the Summer School had gone.

I have to say that overall, I'm really please with the way the classes have worked. I'm particularly impressed with the amount of work that the junior group have put in and whilst we haven't yet got to the end of the Form I don't intend to stop now and will continue to teach Short Form in the coming term until you've all got to the end.

On reflection, I should probably have done a lot more pre-work with those of you who'd only just got Part I of Long Form under your belts, but that said, you have all put in a great effort and should all be pleased. Getting just one of Cloud Hands, Repulse Monkeys, or High Pat on the Horse in the time allowed for the Summer Term would have been an achievement; making a half-decent fist of all of them is worthy of comment.

Let us not ignore the seniors in this round up. I had expected that the differences in some of the Forms between Short and Long Form would cause some confusion and not a little difficulty, but clearly I made the mistake of underestimating you.

I don't intend now for the Short Form to be consigned to the back of a cupboard but hope to have you all play it through regularly and often as part of your regular classes.

With respect to your Training Packs, I plan to continue to add to these as classes continue to try and turn them in to a useful reference, so do please continue bringing them to class. On the subject of the Training Material, I intend to generate more articles on the Form (Short, Long and Simplified Forms) as well as on energy training and Chi Kung. However, if there is a particular topic you feel you would like to see included, please let me know.

Finally I just wanted to publicly thank Eileen for agreeing to be pushed and pulled into position and asked to repeat elements of the Form almost ad nauseum whilst I played the part of a fat and balding Ridley Scott.

Thanks all for making the whole experiment a worthwhile one.
