The weather, which hadn't been to bad all day to that point, turned black as we set out. Our arrival at Belton coincided with the arrival of the lightning;not an auspicious start. As we made our way to the Lincolnshire Sports enclosure, the hail started. The only exhibits with anyone in attendance seemed to be those vending food or drink. As the hour approached the wind got up and the crowd thinned out. And so we begin.
Sadly, by the time we'd got to the end of Part II, the crowd had disappeared (the hail had stopped and, it seems, everyone broke cover to head for their cars) so we called a halt. It's a real shame as I know that those their had worked hard to make sure that they were ready for the performance.
I'd like to thank Eileen, Caro and David for braving the appalling weather to do a display that was watched by so few (the notable exception being for one young lady who took a great delight from copying what Eileen and Caro were doing). I want to also thank Clare, my lovely wife for turning up just to offer support and mind the coats.
Our brief flirtation with public performances finished with a much deserved cup of mulled wine each and a burger - thanks again Clare.
Maybe next time we'll get to the end of the Form and with an audience!
I've added a few pictures below, you can see that the further we got through the Form, the fewer people we were playing it to, although I'm told that a lot of people were watching it from a distance.
