Last night a few of us gathered in Wyndham Park for a spot of practice.
I was initially a little disappointed that so few had replied to the invite, but once we got started, the 4 of us playing the form in a sun-dappled area of the park, it became rather unimportant. The 4 of us, Elieen, Caro, Carole and me, played through the whole of the form at a nice gentle pace, turning the heads of most of the passers-by as we did so.
Sometimes, it's nice to play the form just for the sake of doing so; not to teach, not to learn, just 'cos we can.
I know that it's still only July, but I'm sad to say that the nights are already drawing in so, even if the weather stays fair, it's unlikely that there'll be enough evening sun to have more than one or 2 sessions in the great outdoors before the start of the Autumn term. So, if you are interested in coming down for a practice, a chat, or just to join us for a drink afterwards, remember to check your mailbox on a Monday evening.
Thanks again to the brave few who joined me to make last night a very pleasant one and to those of you who mailed me to tell me that you'd like to have been there but couldn't make it.
'Til next time.
